Retro Viātor
(Viātor is Latin for traveler or messenger)
Purpose
I enjoy exploring, restoring, and using vintage personal computers. I am inspired by the innovation and focus that led to the information revolution. I want to understand those who laid our technological foundations by studying and restoring classic computers.
History
I was born in the mid-1970s, and my early memories are full of the promise of technology. My first computer was a hand-me-down Osborne One, but I soon moved to an XT clone, then a cobbled-together 386. In college, I discovered the Macintosh.
Though I started working in information technology as a network administrator (at the dawn of the world wide web), my career has twisted and turned, and I now engage with technology for fun and diversion.
